A superlative 1914 Matte Proof Lincoln, one of the finest graded by NGC in the Red/Brown classification. Virtually pristine surfaces show the wonderfully faceted surfaces of the sandblast finish. Lovely red on the obverse has mellowed some what, with a hint of violet at the lower periphery. The reverse shows soft golden brown with a dusting of lilac overtone. Razor sharp in strike and impressively preserved, this is a fantastic example for a type or superb set of Matte Proof Lincolns.
